The Canon 7D is an 18 megapixel camera body aimed at keen enthusiast photographers. The EOS 7D sits in the Canon EOS range above the current 70D, and just below the full frame 6D and 5D SLRs, both in terms of features and price. The main difference from the more expensive 6D and 5D SLRs is that it is not full frame, the APS-C sized sensor giving a crop factor of about 1.6. This means that the Canon 7D is compatible with the Canon EF-S lenses, as well as the Canon EF lenses. The Canon 7D offers shooting at 8 frames per second and a 100% viewfinder. It has a built in pop up flash, and the ISO range goes up to 6400 and is expandable to 12,800. The 7d has several nice features including a built in speedlite transmitter for wirelessly controlling external speedlite flashguns, and an electronic "spirit level".
